BASIC FACIAL CARE

Too keep your skin clean, fresh, and youthful you must cleanse, tone, and moisturize daily, every morning and evening, to combat dirt and grime.
The first step is to clean off any makeup that you may have applied to your face. Cleaning the skin is important as it removes the dead cells from the surface of the skin. It also will remove the dust and dirt that chokes the pores on the skin. If the dust is allowed to accumulate, it can block the pores thus blocking the secretion of the glands from coming to the top of the skin providing it the weapons it need to fight against infections and toxic agents.

Remove any dirt or makeup residue by cleansing your face with a mild face cleanser. Use a cleanser that will remove all of the dirt, and basic pollution off of your face without drying your facial skin or changing the pH balance. Never use a cleanser that would be too strong on your face.

The next step is to use a toner on your face.

A thorough cleansing removes more than makeup, grime, and cellular debris. It also strips your skin of its protective shield. Toners help restore the pH balance. They also help remove any remaining makeup or dirt that was not cleaned up.

After the skin is thoroughly clean, apply the toner. A good toner should make your face feel smooth and refreshed. It will tighten the pores in the face and make your skin look smoother.

A wide variety of toners are available. If your face is very sensitive, avoid type of toners that contain scents or colorings, as they can irritate sensitive skin. Try to avoid toners that contain alcohol. Alcohol dries the skin and harms the soluble collagen below the surface of the skin. Choose a toner that will not irritate or dry your skin.

Moisturizing your skin is essential to maintain skin protection. Keeping the skin well-lubricated helps the skin’s reparative processes work more quickly and efficiently. Aging, along with environmental factors such as humidity, can increase the dryness of our skin. Without additional moisture, skin conditions can worsen and become severe. Moisture allows our skin to absorb sunlight and protects us some sun damage. We need to replenishing moisture to keep our skin smooth and healthy.

Well-moisturized skin is soft and supple. It reflects a healthy glow and ages less quickly. It prevents the skin from drying and chapping, thus slowing the aging process. Younger skin only needs light conditioning whereas older skin needs specific nourishing treatments.

A wide variety of moisturizers are available that range from very inexpensive to very expensive. Choose a moisturizer that is suitable to your skin type. For dry skin, you will need a heavier moisturizer. For normal skin, a lighter moisturizer will do. For oily skin, choose the oil-free range products. In moisturizing your face, do not overdo it as it can create a negative effect on your skin.
